ON CASTELNUOVO-MUMFORD REGULARITY OF PRODUCTS OF MONOMIAL IDEALS

Abstract
In this paper, we prove the formula
$$\mathrm{reg}(IJ) \leq \mathrm{reg}(I) + \mathrm{reg}(J),$$
where $I$ is generated by a regular sequence consisting of two monomials and $J$ is generated by an arbitrary regular sequence of monomials.
