Tóm tắt: I will present a survey of some recent advances in the study of the moduli of Higgs bundles. The main character of this survey is certain effective divisors on spectral curves associated with Higgs bundles. Among other applications, these divisors play an important role in the conformal limit developed by Collier - Wentworth, the characterization of wobbly Higgs bundles by Hausel - Hitchin, and the approach to the analytic Langlands correspondence by Teschner and myself.
