Tóm tắt: The Waldschmidt constant was introduced in the 1970's to study ideals of points in the project plane. More recently, it has been used to study the ideal containment problem, that is comparing powers of ideals to their symbolic powers. In this talk, I will show that for square-free monomial ideals, the Waldschmidt constant can be viewed as the optimal value of a linear program.  I will also discuss some connections to the fractional chromatic number of a (hyper) graph.
