Abstract: Zakharov-Rubenchik/Benney-Roskes (Z-R/B-R) system was obtained by V. E. Zakharov-A. M. Rubenchik to model the interaction of low amplitude high frequency waves with low frequency, acoustic type waves, and independently, by D. J. Benney-G. J. Roskes in the context of water wave problem. It does contain as specific limits the well known Zakharov and Davey-Stewartson systems, and it is thus richer than those simpler models and should capture more of the original dynamics. In this talk, I brie y represent about the derivations of this model, the well-known results of its Cauchy problem, then we discuss about its perturbation by a line sollitary wave.
