PhD scholarship at University College Cork, Ireland

Applications are invited for a PhD position in the Mathematics Department at UCC, commencing no later than 1 September 2017.

The post will provide an annual stipend of €16,500 + fees, funded for 3 or 4 years (depending on qualifications).
The research areas represented within the Department of Mathematics include algebraic geometry, complex analysis, functional analysis, harmonic analysis, differential geometry, probability theory, financial mathematics and control theory.
Candidates with interests in algebraic geometry or mathematics education are particularly encouraged to apply, but applications in any of the above areas will receive serious consideration. The scholarship comes with part time (20%) Mathematics outreach duties during the academic year.

Applications should contain a statement of purpose describing yo ur research interests, a CV, university transcripts and addresses of three academic referees.
