Tóm tắt: The lifting problem for curves asks: for $C$ is a (smooth, projective, connected) curve over a field $k$ of characteristic $p>0$, which finite Galois coverings of $C$ lift to characteristic $0$? In this talk, we give an overview of the main questions and techniques used in the study. Furthermore, we discuss the links between the problem and other research directions like deformation theory, $p$-adic differential equations.
