Abstract: In this talk, we present the asymptotic behavior of a stochastic SIR epidemic model. We give sufficient conditions for the permanence and ergodicity of the solution to the system. The conditions obtained in fact are very close to the necessary conditions. We also characterize the support of a unique invariant probability measure and prove the convergence in total variation norm of transition probability to the invariant measures.
