Mathematical models of electric circuits contain diodes

Abstract: We establish a transformation of  the Volt-Ampere characteristics of electric circuits contain diodes to an exact mathematical model which is represented in the form of a differential system with discontinuous special right-hand side. Then, we propose a smooth model approximate to the exact model. The smooth model depends on a chosen parameter K which determines the precision of the proposed model and this model can be effectively used to analyze the solution behavior or for simulation on computers. The usefulness of the exact and smooth models is illustrated via a concrete example.
