Abstract: The notion of homological degree was introduced by W. V. Vasconcelos and his students [DGV] in 1998, and since then, many authors have been engaged in the development of the theory. Recently, in [GhGHOPV], Ghezzi, Goto, Hong, Phuong, Vasconcelos, and the speaker also made use of homological degrees to obtain bounds for the Hilbert coefficients of parameters. The purpose of my talk is to study the first Euler characteristics and the sectional genus of parameter ideals in terms of homological degrees of modules. We also investigate the first and the second Hilbert coefficients of parameters in connection with the homological torsions of modules.
