Abstract: The Newton polytope of a polynomial is the convex hull of its support. We say that a polynomial has saturated Newton polytope (SNP) if every lattice point in its Newton polytope is also in its support. In this talk, we will cover recent results related to the SNP property of symmetric polynomials. If time permits, the Lorentzian property of symmetric polynomials will be discussed.

Venue: Room 612, A6, Institute of Mathematics, VAST
