Program Overview

In partnership with the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the International Center for Research and Postgraduate Training in Mathematics (ICRTM) is pleased to announce the ICRTM-TWAS Visiting Program 2026.

This program offers visiting positions to researchers from developing countries to conduct research at ICRTM in Hanoi, Vietnam. The initiative aims to foster long-term scientific collaboration, provide opportunities for cross-border research, and enhance scientific capacity building.

Program Details

• Number of Positions: Up to five visiting positions.
• Duration: Short-term visits lasting between 60 and 90 days.
• Location: Institute of Mathematics-VAST, 18 Hoang Quoc Viet, Hanoi 10072, Vietnam.
• Host scientist: Visiting fellows will conduct a research project jointly with a host scientist at the Institute of Mathematics-VAST.

Eligibility

Applications are invited from qualified researchers who meet the following criteria:

1. Nationality: Must be a national of a developing country.
2. Education: Hold a PhD degree in mathematics or a closely related field.
3. Research alignment: Research interests must align with the research areas of the institute (see http://math.ac.vn/en/).

Financial Support

The program aims to provide full financial support for the duration of the visit, covering:

• Travel: One round-trip economy-class air ticket from the fellow’s home country to Hanoi.
•  A monthly stipend to cover accommodation and local living expenses: Up to 25 million VND (for junior researchers) and 40 million VND (for senior researchers) per month.

Application procedure

Interested candidates should submit the following documents in English (combined into a single PDF file if possible):

1. Curriculum vitae (including a list of publications).
2. Research proposal: A brief description of the research to be conducted during the visit (maximum 4 pages).
3. Recommendation letters: Two letters of recommendation from senior scientists familiar with the candidate’s work.
4. Passport copy: A scan of the main page of the passport.
