Abstract: In this talk, we introduce some of the main results in the dissertation “Some homological properties of almost Gorenstein rings”. We focus on the followings:

• Describe the structure of the defining ideals of numerical semigroup rings when the pseudo-Frobenius numbers are multiples of a fixed integer.
• Determine characterizations of determinantal defining ideals in numerical semigroup rings of maximal embedding dimension.
• Some the ring-theoretic properties of numerical semigroup rings with determinantal defining ideals are also explored.
