Abstract: The dissertation concentrate on studying the applications of nonsmooth analysis and optimization to more complex facility location problems involving distances to sets in connection with well-known classical geometry problems such as the smallest enclosing circle problems, convex and nonconvex generalized Fermat-Torricelli problems. A generalized proximal point algorithm for minimizing differences of functions is also investigated in this dissertation. |
