Tóm tắt: This talk discusses the representation of positive real polynomials in Hermitian matrix variables as sums of squares. Motivated by questions in real algebraic geometry, operator theory, and quantum information, we investigate when a polynomial that is nonnegative on tuples of Hermitian matrices admits a decomposition into sums of Hermitian squares.
