Visitors to Vietnam must have a valid passport. There are no longer any pandemic travel restrictions in place.
Visa exemptions apply to citizens of many countries, such as Southeast Asian countries, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus. Citizens of the aforementioned countries do not have to apply for a visa if the duration of their stay in Vietnam does not exceed 15 days from the date of arrival (the duration is longer for some Southeast Asian countries).
Please check the following links for more details:
For citizens of other countries, complete information on how to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam can be found on the websites of Vietnam embassies or consulates.
You can apply for a visa directly at a Vietnam embassy or consulate or, more conveniently, you can apply for an electronic visa (E-visa). Vietnam's E-visa is one of several visa types offered by the Vietnam Immigration Department to foreigners entering the country. An E-visa is valid for 30 days and is single entry only. An E-visa costs 25 USD and requires three full working days to process. Vietnam's E-visa is available to nationals of 80 countries. For information on E-visa, please visit the website (https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt) of the Immigration Office of Vietnam.
We are very glad to assist you if you need a visa. In this case, please download form and send your information to the conference email address AG2023Hanoi@math.ac.vn.
Please also kindly check with the Vietnamese embassy in your country, or read the link for more details.

How to go from Noi Bai International Airport to downtown hotels?
For participants who stay in downtown hotels, we will arrange a pick-up service for you. In case of an unexpected event or if you cannot meet the pick-up person, you can take a taxi from Noi Bai airport to the hotel or to any other place in the city center. The taxi costs around 15-20 USD for a one way trip.
How to go from hotel to the Insitute of Mathematics?
During the conference, there will be a bus to pick up the participants from Hoa Binh hotel to the Institute of Mathematics and back.
Those who stay in other hotels and wish to go by the conference bus, please register with the organizers and be available at the Hoa Binh hotel before the departure.
Those who take a taxi should remember the address of the Institute of Mathematics:
18B Hoang Quoc Viet street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi
In Vietnamese (to show to the taxi driver)
Viện Toán học – Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học và Công nghệ Việt Nam
18B Hoàng Quốc Việt, Cầu Giấy, Hà Nội
How to get around in Hanoi?
The Hoa Binh hotel is close to many tourist attractions, but if you wish to visit other places in Hanoi, the most convenient way to get there is either by taxi or by Grab (the regional version of Uber / Lyft). If you plan to use Grab, you need to download the Grab app on your phone beforehand and have cash on hand to pay the driver the amount that the app showed you at the time of booking. If you wish to have 4G data on your phone throughout your stay, the easiest way is to buy a SIM card at the airport immediately upon arrival: there are several kiosks selling inexpensive prepaid SIM cards for tourists right outside the baggage claim area. All the mainstream international websites (Google, etc.) work very well in Vietnam, so it is easy to get around, to check on restaurants to eat at, places to visit, etc. Smaller restaurants and vendors may not always accept credit cards, so it is useful to exchange some money either at the airport or at the city center.
