What are the simplest objects beyond the varieties of minimal degree and del Pezzo varieties in Syzygy and Geometry?

Abstract: There are the basic two objects in projective algebraic geometry, i.e. varieties of minimal degree and del Pezzo varieties. The natural question can be naturally raised as follows: What are the next simplest varieties in a sense of syzygy and geometry? We try to give an answer with a viewpoint of the quadratic strand of the Betti diagrams. This is a joint work with J. Han, Euisung Park and Wanseoc Lee.
