Abstract: This talk is a friendly invitation to the study of Hopf algebras, a large class of (non-commutative) algebras that are widely studied and arise in many areas of mathematics. We will discuss some recent developments and research directions on Hopf algebras. Necessary background will be explained. Advanced undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to explore this field of mathematics.
