Tóm tắt. Some of the main and longstanding conjectures in representation theory of finite groups, including the conjectures of Brauer, McKay, and Alperin, follow the global-local philosophy and relate global invariants and local structure of the group. We will discuss these conjectures and the main ideas behind the recent proofs of some of them
