Abstract: Reaction-diffusion systems are of the most encountered models in problems arising from physics, chemistry, biology, and many other sciences. Two of the most important, yet natural, properties of any system are the preservation of non-negativity of initial data and dissipation, or more generally, control, of the total mass. In contrast to the spatially homogeneous setting, it turns out that these two conditions are not enough to prevent blow-up in finite time of the local strong solution. In this talk, we discuss recent results where sufficient conditions of the nonlinearities guarantee the global existence of bounded solutions.
