Abstract: We establish relationships between the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of standard graded algebras and the Ratliff-Rush closure of ideals, which allow us to compare the regularities of the Rees algebra and the fiber ring of homogeneous ideals generated by forms of the same degree.
