On statistical description of turbulence

Abstract. Since Kolmogorov presented his theory on homogeneous isotropic turbulence in 1941, statistical descriptions of turbulence have been developed a great deal. In this talk we will review some of the concept of the statistical approach of turbulence and present recent development in relation with large scale computer simulations.
