Abstract:: In this talk, we will present the seminal paper " How many zeros of a random polynomial are real?" by Edelman and Kostlan in Bull. AMS (vol 32, 1995) providing the geometric presentation of the expected number of real zeros of random polynomials, as well as the number of real roots of system of random polynomials, and the number of real eigenvalues of random matrices. Then we introduce the Kac-Rice formula to investigate higher moments and Central limit theorem. We also discuss on some interesting open questions.
