Abstract: Let $G$ be a linear algebraic group acting on the vector space $V$ via representation $\rho: G \rightarrow \GL(V)$ defined over an algebraically closed field $k$, and let $v \in V$ be any nonzero vector. In this talk, I present some recent results regarding the relationship between the notion of generic stability (stability with respect to general maximal tori) for $v$ and stability with respect to the center of $G$ in the case that $G$ is reductive. These observations are inspired from the recent fact that all nonzero vectors $v$ are generically stable due to D. Hyeon and J. Park when $G$ is a semisimple group. This is joint work with D. Hyeon. |
